The Wings Awards
The Performing Arts are alive and well in Huntsville. The Wings Awards are Huntsville's answer to Broadway's "Tony" awards. Each year Huntsville's best performers and most talented technical people are recognized at a gala dinner/performance event.
The Wings association was founded in 1992 by five of Huntsville's performing arts groups and The Arts Council to improve production levels and to foster cooperation amoung the performing groups. Membership has ebbed and flowed over the years, but now stands at seven performing groups, plus The Arts Council. (See Membership, especially if you are unfamiliar with the group name abbreviations used throughout these pages.)
